Nelson’s London Dry Gin No7 42.5%

Tasted: July 2016

Botanicals Include: Juniper, Thai Lemon Grass, Kaffir Lime Leaves, Madagascan Vanilla, Sri Lankan Cinnamon

A crisp and fresh nose with juniper and plenty of spice – cinnamon and coriander, along with a touch of vanilla and lime?

The palate is softer and fuller with a touch more vanilla and lightly oiled spirit character. Hints of bitter spice, cinnamon, cardamom? cassia bark? come through on the middle. Good intensity with the woody spice notes lingering along with a sliver of citrus and grass.

Nelson’s Rhubarb & Custard Gin 41%

Tasted: Nov 2016

The nose is lightly citric and junipery with a touch of vanilla, which could be mistaken for custard. Lightly soapy with a touch of ‘pink’ fruit.

The palate is a little flat and milky with sweet rhubarb, vanilla, juniper and bitter orris. Short and a little hot on the finish with lingering herbal notes.
