Aldi Tasting Notes

Posted: June 13, 2015 in English Gin, Gin

Aldi ‘Oliver Cromwell’ London Dry Gin 37.5%

Tasted: Oct 2014

Nose: Quite citrusy (lemon) with plenty of juniper and a touch of orris root, ginger and coriander. Pleasantly broad and deep.

Palate: Soft and a little watery. Again the lemon appears first followed by juniper. Pepper and lightly bitter spices. Not as complex as the nose, but it has a pleasantly oily mouth-feel.

Finish: Medium length with lingering lemon and soft, peppery spices.

Conclusion: Pleasant if a little underpowered on the palate.
