Wild Himalayan Juniper Gin 40%

Boxer Gin, London

Uniquely, they separately steam distil fresh, wild juniper berries to extract their essential oil. This gentle 20 hour process is carried out at source in the Himalaya,. Similarly, they also extract a zingy raw citrus essential oil by cold pressing fresh bergamot peel. The other botanicals used are: Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Orris Root, Liquorice Root, Sweet Seville Orange, Sweet Lemon and Cassia Bark.

Tasted: Feb 2014

A crisp and peppery nose with plenty of slightly sweet juniper along with hints of citrus and smoke.

The palate is fresh and glacial clean. The juniper is quite subtle but it builds in a perfumed intensity. Light hints of lemon and spice. Quite sweet on the finish with the the juniper notes lingering. In conclusion: Good gin! I liked the way the flavours developed on the palate.
