Posted: April 17, 2014 in English Gin, Gin

Gilpin’s Westmorland Extra Dry 47%

Distilled with a variety of botanicals, including the juniper, borage and sage.

Tasted Nov/ Dec 2013

The nose is fresh and crisp with plenty of lemon along with hints of juniper, herbs and a spicy grain spirit note.

Intense and very citrusy palate. Lightly creamy with juniper, berry and light spice notes. Long, crisp and mouth-watering. Lightly creamy after-taste.  A pleasant, crisp and intense gin.

Gilpin’s Westmorland Extra Dry 47%

Re- Tasted Jan 2014

The nose is sweet and aromatic with hints of violet, juniper and sweet rose water. With time it becomes quite floral.

Full and sweetly spiced on the palate with a milky character. Not as complex as the nose, but pleasant nevertheless!  A little bitter with the alcohol drying.  Pleasant enough.
