Hammer & Son’s Ltd Old English Gin 44%

Tasted Nov/ Dec 2013

The nose is subtle with smoky vanilla, cinnamon, lime and pungent, oily spirit notes. However the palate is soft, bland and quite sweet with hints of juniper, lime and building bitter spice. Sweet, spicy finish with a citrus after-taste. In conclusion –  Interesting nose, bland palate and an overly sweet finish.

Hammer & Son’s Ltd Geranium Gin 44%

Tasted Nov/ Dec 2013

Bland and oily nose with pulped cereal and hints of rose water and cardboard. The palate is bland and watery. How can 44% taste watery? Hints of rose water and juniper. Becomes rather sweet. The finish is sweet, perfumed and sickly with black pepper and bitter spices. In conclusion –  Has Tobermory started doing gin?
