Robert Graham Auchentoshan Tasting Notes

Posted: January 11, 2014 in Auchtentoshan, Scotch Whisky A-G

Dancing Stag Auchentoshan 1991 (17 year old) 46%

Bottled by Robert Graham

Refill Sherry Butt 490/ Dist: Feb 1991 Btl: May 2008/ Tasted: Dec 2013

Soft, slightly spirity aromas of old straw and white fruit with some light toffee and caramel. Some hints of lemon sorbet attempt to add some freshness but it smells a little tired.

The palate is very much like the nose with old straw-like apricot and sour apple with a touch of old sherry spice. Again a bit flat and tired with a fairly hot finish. In saying that it does have some pleasant peppery-spice moments.
