Boisdale/ Berry Brothers Tasting Notes

Posted: October 24, 2013 in Longmorn, Scotch Whisky H-Z

Boisdale Longmorn 1992 (19 year old) 46%

Bourbon Hogshead 71762/ Dist: 1992 Btl: 2012/ Tasted: Sept 2013

Quite a sweet nose of pure vanilla oak, sweet barley with hints of apricot, banana, sweet spice and violet. The aromas have a sort of grainy edge to them and the oak continues to develop and become quite dominant.

The palate is quite dry; again there is plenty of sweet oak on show along with hints of apricot, banana, barley and spice. Pleasantly spicy on the middle and slightly grainy with a light treacle and mineral finish. It’s pleasant enough in a straightforward manner, and it is definitely not showing its age.
